Superior Cation Exchange Capacity

The high CEC of CLINOMAX™ enables greater nutrient retention and contaminant removal compared to alternative materials.

Why Does High Purity Matter?

Superior Purity: 80–100% Clinoptilolite
Clinoptilolite is the most effective zeolitic mineral for ion exchange. While generic zeolites contain 50–70% clinoptilolite, CLINOMAX™ guarantees 80–100%; the higher content tends to increase adsorption capacity per kg of product.
Optimized Microporous Crystalline Structure
Three-dimensional channels of 4–7 Ångströms (0.4–0.7 nm) with affinity for cations of environmental and nutritional relevance (NH₄⁺, K⁺, Pb²⁺, Cd²⁺, Cs⁺, Sr²⁺). High purity eliminates inert minerals, maximizing the density of active sites per unit mass.
Exceptional Cation Exchange Capacity
CEC of 150–190 meq/100g, versus typical values of 40–70 meq/100g for bentonite and 120–150 meq/100g for low-purity zeolites. Higher CEC means greater capacity to retain nutrients (K⁺, Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺) and remove contaminants.
Rapid Adsorption Kinetics
Rapid kinetics, with most of the exchange occurring within the first few minutes (varies with dose, concentration, and particle size), favored by the surface area (39 m²/g) and the absence of blocking minerals.

Surface Area: Maximum Adsorption Efficiency

The microporous structure, combined with the surface area, provides numerous exchange sites for contaminant adsorption and ion exchange, contributing to efficiency per kg of product.
